Personal Essays and WIT Group Writing

PERSONAL ESSAY:
This is the next writing piece students are working on.  Students brainstormed ideas, "from the heart", to understand how this genre is created.  This piece connects the reader to the writer's emotions.  This is not an easy piece to write, but students are working hard and trying their best to stir the emotions of their audience.

In our WIT group, four students are writing to a student from Minnesota.  This student asked our students to be involved in the Great American Mail Race.  Their letter will be posted next to the state of Vermont, on the U.S. map, in the Minnesota classroom.  Travis, Riley, Shylynn and Brodie are planning to send this student pictures and information about Vermont.  Our students are learning about paragraph structure, punctuation, writing a friendly letter and enjoying the activity.  Other students in the WIT group are writing Thanksgiving letters to their families.   ---- Hope you enjoy them.    WIT groups consist of 5-15 students and we change groups every three to four weeks.  ( Whatever It Takes ) for everyone to learn or  ( Wonderful, Incredible Team )
